Skanska Land Major £30m London Serviced Office Space Refurbishment

Skanska land a deal that will include large-scale refurbishment of an entire building. The refurbished centre will feature an extra 1,000 square feet of London serviced office space.

Construction company Skanska has landed a major £30m office refurbishment contract at Finsbury Circus house, near Liverpool Street station, London.

The Hamburg-based firm Union investment Real Estate , the owner of Finsbury Circus House, appointed City project managers Core to handle the upgrade to the London serviced office space on its behalf.

Union Investment Real Estate’s Dr Karl-Joseph Hermanns- Engel said: “The  current market cycle in London provides an almost perfect opportunity for this type of  reconstruction in prime locations.

“Repositioning our property will enable us to meet the high demand for energy-efficient core properties in the financial district.”

Initial works on the London serviced office space will include the demolition of the ground floor slab, together with structural alteration to the existing eight-storey office building.

Furthermore, during the reconstruction process, Skanska will build an additional roof top floor which will provide more than 1,000 square feet of London serviced office space.

The company’s team will also install mechanical and electrical services throughout, as well as high -quality toilets, a reception area and six new passenger lifts.

The architect for the scheme is Fletcher Priest and work will start on the London serviced office space immediately with completion expected for January 2013.
