BBC News is moving its Television Centre from W12 to W1 in a staggered office relocation expected to be completed by 2013.
The BBC will be relocating all staff and operations into Central London, closer to the recently renovated offices at Broadcasting House.
Broadcasting House is located on the corner of Oxford Street and Regent Street and its vast renovation was completed in 2010, bringing it more up to date with its surroundings and the continual expansion of the BBC.
The BBC News and Radio staff that had been based in West London since 1960 will now be closer to the action in Central London.
The iconic Television Centre, which was designed by Graham Dawbarn and has been home to the Blue Peter garden and the sets of shows from Fawlty Towers and Monty Python to Absolutely Fabulous and Strictly Come Dancing, is due to be put up for sale.
