CHELSEA
Long known for its wealthy residents and designer shopping, Chelsea is in the SW3 postcode area of Central London. Together with Kensington, Belgravia, Knightsbridge and several other districts, it forms the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, the second wealthiest borough in England. In 2012, Chelsea was named as home to the most expensive residential street in the UK.
BUSINESS
In an area well known for its townhouses, it is no surprise that office space in Chelsea and the neighbouring district of Kensington is predominantly in period properties. TRANSPORT
Tube:
Sloane Square Tube Station is on the District and Circle Lines. There is also a proposal in place for a Chelsea Tube Station on the King’s Road.
Mainline
From Sloane Square Tube to London Victoria takes four minutes. From here, connections can be picked up to Euston mainline station.
Airports
From Chelsea to London City Airport is less than 12 miles, while Heathrow is also less than 16 miles away. A connection for Gatwick Express can be picked up from London Victoria.
LEISURE
Chelsea is well provided with award-winning restaurants, including Restaurant Gordon Ramsay on Royal Hospital Road and Tom Aikens on Elystan Street.
For entertainment, the King’s Road is home to the world-famous Saatchi Gallery, while the Chelsea Art Fair brings modern and contemporary art works to the area every April. The Royal Hospital Chelsea is a popular tourist destination and the location for the annual Chelsea Flower Show.
Chelsea is an excellent destination for high-end shopping. Sloane Street is one of London´s most prestigious shopping locations and home to designer boutiques including Saint Laurent, Chanel and Dior. In complete contrast, Chelsea Green offers the kind of independent shops you´d expect in a traditional village, including a butcher, a fishmonger and a cake shop (which just happens to be owned by Jane Asher).
