Olympic Park Legacy has issued a request that any companies interested in using the Olympic commercial property in East London as office space after the London Olympics, submit planning proposals.

Interested parties have 9 weeks to present proposals based on bringing job opportunities to East London and connecting to local communities such as Hackney Wick. The commercial property in East London will be fully marketed in early 2011.

During the 2012 Olympics the commercial property in East London will house 20,000 members of the international media and will consist of a Broadcast and Press Centre. However, once converted the Broadcast Centre will provide around 9,000 square feet of office space and the Press Centre will provide nearly 30,000 square feet of grade A work space.

Olympic Park Legacy are aiming to sell the commercial property in East London to companies and tenants from the creative sector.

We must ensure the employment legacy vital to Hackney and east London is achieved and we will continue to work closely with our partners to secure this for our residents.” commented Jules Pipe, elected Mayor for Hackney.

The company has expectations that the site will generate opportunities for long term-employment and investment in the East London area.
