Disney Heads to Office Space in Hammersmith with New Production Site
A certain office space in Hammersmith is all set for some Disney magic, following the news that the company is to open a production office in the area.
The company is believed to have chosen a London location to take advantage of the drama tax credits opportunity currently in force in the UK. With Hammersmith already serving as the location for the UK head office of The Disney Store, which is based on Queen Caroline Street, it comes as no surprise that the company chose a new production office space in Hammersmith too.
Disney is among a wide mix of businesses based in the Hammersmith area, including the UK and Ireland office for Coca-Cola which is also based on Queen Caroline Street, Chivas Brothers which has premises on Chancellors Road, and L’Oreal, whose UK HQ is on the Hammersmith Road. GE Capital, the financial services arm of General Electric, continues to occupy space on Talgarth Road in The Ark building, having moved staff to the site from several of its Mayfair offices back in 2010.
Businesses looking to follow Disney’s lead and head to office space in Hammersmith will find a wide range of business centres available in the area. Typical space in the W6 area of London is found in modern, purpose-built office premises, such as this business centre on Hammersmith Grove or these serviced offices on Queen Caroline Street.
The presence of so many high-profile businesses may be one reason why the London Mayor is a keen champion of developing office space in Hammersmith. Current plans include the construction of a brand new £50m office block on Hammersmith Grove and the redevelopment of Earl’s Court.
Helical Bar is currently awaiting approval on a scheme which will see the major regeneration of King Street through the creation of new leisure facilities, residential homes and the refurbishment of the council offices. Meanwhile, the Hammersmith and Fulham Council has been looking into options for improving connections between Hammersmith and the rest of London by replacing the flyover.
Having a company like Disney move to office space in Hammersmith will only further help to raise Hammersmith’s profile.
