Plans have been established by the Canary Wharf Group to open ‘Level39’, a business space for financial technology firms.
The 39th floor of One Canada Square has been set aside for the development, which will total 29,000 sq ft of office space and communal areas designed to promote the efforts of companies designed new technology for the financial sector.
“Attracting the brightest entrepreneurial minds is crucial if London is to maintain its position as the world’s foremost financial centre,” says Mayor Boris Johnson.
“Level39 is sure to foster talent and help the capital’s technology and financial sectors flourish, in turn driving jobs and growth.”
The scheme is being spearheaded by entrepreneur Eric Van Der Kleij, who is CEO of the Tech City Investment Organisation in East London.
“This will be a place for industry experts to come together, share knowledge and develop up-and-coming talent with a view to bringing new products and services to the market,” said Mr Van Der Kleij in a statement to the press.
