Harvey Nash has announced it is to relocate its headquarters to Heron Tower on Bishopsgate.
The professional services group’s decision to stay in the capital has been interpreted as a sign of confidence in the London office space market.
Professional services group Harvey Nash has announced that it has shunned options in New York, Dublin and Hong Kong in favour of office space in London.
In the clearest sign yet that the London office space market is still an attractive option, the group have confirmed they will relocate their headquarters from Mayfair to Heron Tower on Bishopsgate. Harvey Nash will take space on the eleventh floor on a 10 year lease when it relocates later this year.
Harvey Nash said the building’s green credentials and the UK’s pool of talent were just two of the reasons for relocating to the City. Other reasons thought to be behind the firm’s commitment to the capital include the iconic nature of the tower and the presence of many high tech firms around the Silicon Roundabout area in Shoreditch.
Commenting on the decision to stay in London, CEO of Harvey Nash Albert Ellis said: “London is a fantastic location for all British companies who are exporting services and expanding internationally. Access to a highly skilled workforce combined with a 21st century facility such as the Heron Tower supports our mobile workforce and in our view it’s the best anywhere in the world. And the UK as a whole is on the up. The government’s focus on emerging markets and in particularly China, is in line with our strategy as we expand from our base in Vietnam into China and Australia in the first half of 2012.”
Consisting of 36 floors, Heron Tower offers tenants high quality office space in the heart of the City. Currently around a third let, the building is home to existing tenants in a range of industries including law firm McDermott Will & Emery and serviced office provider Landmark who supply bespoke workspace solutions on the 17th, 18th and 19th floors.
