Getting a promotion doesn’t have to be difficult if you know how to get your bosses to notice your talents and capabilities.

There are millions of British workers who fail to take the bull by the horns – now is the perfect time to exhibit that you have what it takes to move up the corporate ladder. Follow these simple guidelines and you’ll be on your way to reaching the uppermost rung without a problem.

1.Work harder. The simple truth is that working harder, paying more attention to your work and reducing the number of inaccuracies in your projects will set you apart from the crowd. No manager will be keen to promote an employee who can’t carry out the basics of their job without complaining. Keep your chin up, show enthusiasm and do your best.

2.Do more. Doing a little bit extra can be a great way to draw attention to yourself. If a new position arises and you have already stepped out of your comfort zone by increasing your key responsibilities you may be the first person the bosses think of to promote. If you are already doing a great job it makes sense to keep you on, give you more tasks and therefore retain a staff member who’s already thriving within the existing team.

3.Show off. Although the thought of boasting about your successes may seem an unattractive trait, showing off is a great way to highlight what you’ve been doing. Don’t be afraid to tell the manager that you’ve led projects, met deadlines and worked much harder than others if it’s true. Let the office know that you are the bees knees and your boss will soon come to believe it.
