Lemon Studios, owner of serviced office space in Clerkenwell, is joining forces with two parties in an attempt to promote its offices abroad.
Government department UK Trade and Investment, which focuses on exports and international trade, and Match Office, a European serviced office specialist, will draw in businesses requiring a UK office base. The tenants in Lemon Studios are made up of technology and digital start-up firms. These include digital marketing agencies, production companies and market vendors with more than half of them working collaboratively.
Matthew O’Riordan, managing director, said: “Despite all of the digital marketing and communications channels now available to entrepreneurs, we’ve witnessed a real return to old fashioned networking. We organise regular networking sessions for our tenants but there is also plenty of ad-hoc collaboration in the office, including a tenants’ intranet, and socialising after work over a pint”.
He added: “There is a real openness and willingness to share ideas and know-how – very much in the style of a business incubator”.
A increase in demand for a spot at the site is illustrated by the two month waiting list for office space. Lemon Studios is planning to expand to offer 1,000 work stations in four other areas of London to provide office space in Shoreditch, Old Street, Southbank and Soho.
