London’s Top Five Hottest Fitness Festivals and Events this Summer
With a recent article stating that Millennials would rather attend fitness festivals in London than a boozy, loud and toxic (for the body at least) music festival, Londonoffices wondered what all the fuss was about.
After looking into the best wellness events in the capital this summer, here’s what we found…
Sweat Life @ Tobacco Dock, 23-24th June
Hosted by the yoga-inspired athletic clothing company, Lululemon, Sweat Life is 48 hours of sweaty fun, and even a bit of shopping to reward yourself post work out. Hosted at the Tabacco Dock, one of the most unique office buildings on Londonoffices’ portfolio, we’re certain this is one you won’t want to miss.
With everything from Kobox, a high intensity class that will see you tackle all the fundamentals of boxing, to Kirsty Gallagher, specialising in dynamic vinyasa flow – fluid, playful and flowing sequences to open the body, soul and mind, there is something for everyone and all abilities.
If its advice and education you’re after, Sweat Life also hosts people such as Andy Vincent. With 16 years of experience in biomechanics, AM methods, strength training and nutrition, he knows a thing or two.
Citadel @ Gunnersbury Park, 15th July
There aren’t many things more energising or freeing than exercising in the open air and Citadel allows you to do just this. What makes this festival different from your daily jog in the park you ask? Well these gardens have the added excitement of live music, arts and wellbeing opportunities to complete the experience.
This individual festival boasts Tame Impala’s only UK show this summer and, in keeping with well-loved festival traditions there is a selection of drinks to enjoy with the show.
Love Fit @ St. Clere Estate, 20th-22nd July
Sitting just outside the M25, this festival is the ideal choice for Londoners seeking fitness and fun, country style. Aligning adventure activities with fitness classes, music and boutique after parties, this festival sets itself aside from the rest.
Some of the world’s most famous fitness pros including PT and fitness blogger Carly Rowena and everyone’s favourite, Mr Motivator, will be taking classes from high intensity all the way through to mindful sessions.
With GTG favourites 1Rebel and Fierce Grace onsite you will be able to take part in spin, hot yoga and obstacle courses by day and acoustic sessions, fancy dress and forest parties by night.
Just Breathe London @ The Shard, 29th August
Combining an awe-inspiring, inspirational setting with the calming and grounding practise of meditation, the motto of this fitness event is, ‘don’t hate, meditate’. Led by wellness warrior Micheal James Wong, sessions consist of live music, spirited discussion and mass meditation creating a healthy mind and soul.
It doesn’t matter whether you’re a meditation master or a complete novice, the event is open to all. There is even a Mindful Market onsite where 100% of profits go to charity.
Various Events @ Pop Brixton, Mondays
Finally, if you’re reading this and feeling motivated but can’t make any of the dates above, don’t worry, we have a solution. Pop Brixton hold a variety of wellness classes every Monday. With unique offerings including Tai Chi and Laughter Yoga, housed within a community space designed to showcase Brixton’s independent businesses, working out here will leave you feeling good in more ways than one.
We must admit, the thought of waking up with a raging hangover in a tent that is dripping wet and stinking of alcohol doesn’t seem so appealing to us any more either. The fitness festival may just be the hottest way to spend the summer in 2018.
