London office space to be used in 2012 Games announced by Mayor Boris Johnson

Office space to be accommodated by media companies during the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games has been officially launched by Mayor of London Boris Johnson.

The office space, One Great George Street Conference Centre, is situated in central London and will provide conference and office space for an estimated 50,000 accredited and non-accredited journalists in 2012.

The centre, which is fully-serviced with live broadcasting areas and a generous amount of office space, will provide workspaces for over 250 journalists and a number of press facilities to seat approximately 200 members of the media.

Director of One Great George Street, Gary Payne, said, “This is a significant achievement for One Great George Street, positioning the Institution of Civil Engineers’ headquarters as a high-profile venue for one of the world’s biggest international sporting events.”

According to a recent report by Colliers International, integrated real estate services provider, there will be a large growth in the amount of businesses and professionals using office space in 2012.

Boris Johnson said, “Journalists joining us for these historic days in the summer of 2012 are now guaranteed a central working base in the heart of all the action. A stone’s throw from the London Media Centre lie some of the capital’s most iconic shots and locations, ready to be beamed into homes across the globe.”

He added, “I look forward to welcoming our visitors in 2012 and joining with them for the biggest party London has ever seen.”
