Bank
Bank Station is part of the Bank-Monument complex, both a tube station link which forms a key interchange with several different tube lines in the centre of the city and the surrounding area.
The station, which is in Zone 1, connects the Northern, District, Central, Circle and Waterloo & City lines. It is located approximately 12 minutes walk from Canary Wharf and the offices of London’s central business district.
The area and station take their name from the Bank of England Museum which is in close proximity to the station. Similarly, Monument station is named after the Monument to the Great Fire of London.
Bank is in touching distance of an array of fashionable boutique shops, as well as having connections to venues, theatres, bars and restaurants throughout the city.
The station is also of historical importance as during The Blitz in the Second World War a German bomb destroyed part of the station, causing it to be closed for a number of months.
