Blackfriars is an area of central London. It is bordered by Fenchurch Street to the east, Covent Garden to the west and the River Thames to the south.
It is named after a historic priory in the area which was closed in the 16th Century as part of Henry VIII’s dissolution of the monasteries.
It is served by Blackfriars station, in zone one, and offers access to fantastic office space and tourist sites across the city via London Underground.
The area also has excellent transport links on water due to its proximity to the river Thames. Blackfriars Millennium pier offers connections to the Embankment, Woolwich Arsenal and Putney via commuter boats.
