Canary Wharf is an office and retail development in central London and contains three of the tallest buildings in Britain, including One Canada Square, the tallest. The development is located in the Borough of Tower Hamlets, neighbouring Limehouse and Leamouth. Today it is a densely populated business district and rivals the City of London for the title of the capital’s financial centre. Its occupants include many billionaires, multinational corporations including law firms, media groups and most commonly financial institutions. The area is thought to employ in excess of 100,000 people, including some of the most highly paid in the country. As a business district Canary Wharf has such gravitas that land values in surrounding areas have also significantly increased, raising the rents on office space on the Isle of Dogs significantly.Canary Wharf station, on the Jubilee Line, serves the heart of  Canary Wharf's  financial and media district. It is the gate way through which over 200 shops, waterside bars, restaurants and prime office space can be accessed.
