Serviced Offices EC4 – Office Space Guide

EC4 is a London postcode that roughly covers the south western corner of the City, between the City of Westminster and London Bridge. The district includes Fleet Street, Temple, Blackfriars and St Paul’s.

Fleet Street became famous for being the home of British newspapers until the 1980’s when the newspaper firms started to leave, with the last British news office, Reuters, leaving in 2005. It is now more associated with the law and its barrister’s chambers. Fleet Street office space still remains home to many major organisations such as Goldman Sachs, Agence France Presse, DC Thomson & Co. and the Office of Fair Trading.

The Temple Church is a late 12th century church located between Fleet Street and the River Thames. It was built by the Knights Templar as their English headquarters and is famous for its effigy tombs.  The church was featured in the The Da Vinci Code book and the controversial film spin off. Inner Temple is one of the four Inns of Court in London and is a professional body for many barristers, which provides legal training, selection and training.

EC4 has a number of famous landmarks, including the Old Bailey, which is also known as the Central Criminal Court in the UK. It lies between Holborn Circus and St Paul’s Cathedral and is featured in many novels such as “A Tale of Two Cities”, “Neverwhere” and “Patriot Games”. It also featured in the movie “V For Vendetta” and many scenes for “Law and Order: UK” are shot inside the main building.
