Office space becomes vacant as NHS utilizes mobile computers

The South West London & St George’s Mental Health Trust has added a further 800 tablets PCs tot their wards, adding to the devices that are already installed.

This project began with just 200 devices being used at the hospital for early-intervention clinicians who spent less than 25% of their time in their offices. However they are now being fully installed as a means to cut down office space.

By utilizing this new technology the hospital has been able to make significant reductions to their office space, which will no doubt have an impact on office vacancy rates within London.

Study predicts London office’s will become vacant due to networking technology

Commercial properties are thought to be become vacant as networking technology replaces the need for office space.

A study, produced by a think tank and the Institute of Directors, predicts that virtual desktops, and to some extent the recession, are leading to less of a demand for office space.

Instead of offices companies are using new technology to work from a variety of locations such as at home or on the road, and only using an office when they book a conference room for meetings with clients.

British Land hits a 92 percent occupancy rate

British Land has recently announced that they have secured lettings on 465,000 square feet of office space since February.

British Land had previously established a significant London based deal with the Macquarie Group, Gill Jennings & Every LLP and Dickson Minto for 256,000 sq-ft of office space.

Now with similar lease agreements, British Land has reached a staggering 92% occupancy rate.
