With The Shard due to open on Thursday 5th July, developers Sellar Property have confirmed ‘serious talks’ with three companies that are potentially interested in office space at the iconic London Bridge development.
Guests at the opening ceremony of Europe’s tallest building will be treated to music from the London Philharmonic and a laser show from the Shard over its neighbouring iconic buildings.
The building, which is mostly owned by Qatar, has pre-let space to the Shangri-La Hotel but failed to secure any office space uptakers from among interested parties. Transport for London (TfL) once had space in the tower, but was bought out by the owners when the deal became non-competitive.
“We are in serious discussions with three separate parties,” says Sellar Property Chairman, Irvine Sellar. “We are not in a hurry, not under pressure.”
