The burgeoning Baker Street business district has received a boost this week, with the news that the development offering office space for rent in London at 10 Portman Square is nearing completion.

Developer British Land announced today that the new space for rent in London has now reached practical completion, with only the fit-out stage remaining before it is ready for occupation this summer.

Offering 113,000 sq. ft. of space for rent in London over its seven floors, the building has been designed by London-based Jestico+Whiles. A key feature of their vision for the building is its column-free floorplates of 18,500 sq. ft. offering large areas of flexible space. Billed by its developers as a new landmark address in one of London’s most exclusive areas, 10 Portman Square falls within the Baker Street Quarter. This prime business location within the West End stretches from Marylebone Road down to Oxford Street, taking in roads including Manchester Street, Blandford Street, Chiltern Street and George Street, as well as part of Wigmore Street.

The Baker Street Quarter was designated as a Business Improvement District (BID) last month; a move which will pave the way for further development, promotion and improvement of the area as a business destination.
