Telefónica Digital sign a deal on offices to lease in London in the AirW1 development. The plush Regent Street office space will also welcome Halfords Media and long-term sustainable investment firm Generation Investment Management.

A telecommunications operator is set to lease London office space at the AirW1 development.

Telefónica Digital are set to take up space in Regent Street of 51, 000 sq ft taking the fourth and fifth floors, with the space set to be the base for the company’s global headquarters.

The Crown Estate’s AirW1 offices to lease in London will house around 400 of Telefónica Digital’s employees when it opens this summer, where they will be joined by Halfords Media.

Telefónica Digital Chairman and CEO Matthew Key said: “London is undoubtedly at the forefront of the current digital revolution and was a natural choice for us to establish our new headquarters in. London is arguably the biggest hub for technology start ups outside of Silicon Valley and a global centre for the media and advertising industries.

“It attracts the best talent and, for an international business such as ours, acts as a unique bridge between Europe and the Americas.”

He added: “Our decision to invest in having a significant presence in central London’s Regent Street is clear evidence of our determination to succeed in the digital space.”

The AirW1 offices to lease in London are located near to Piccadilly Circus and is the main office development of The Crown Estates Quadrant 3 development, compromising 180,000 sq ft of prime Grade A office space, spanning seven floors.

Telefónica Digital are said to have signed a 15 year lease for undisclosed rents, along with Halfords Media and Generation Investment Management.

Of the deals, David Shaw, Head of The Crown Estate’s Regent Street Portfolio, said: “Our AirW1 offices are part of our most significant project to date and signing a global brand like Telefónica reaffirms Regent Street’s position as the central West End’s leading place for business.

“The success of our Quadrant 3 lettings demonstrates the quality of the building and the benefits of our long-term approach, which delivered AirW1 to a market where supply of this type of space here in the core West End is virtually non-existent.”

Telefónica will commence work on its new offices to lease in London by February.
