US law firm has found new City office

Pinsent Masons, a US law firm, have finished their search for a City of London office.

The firm will move in to offices at 30 Crown Place in 2011. The new office will be Pinsent Masons’ largest international office, comprising of around 197,000 sq ft in total at the sixteen storey building near Liverpool Street.

The law firm is reported to have taken a 15-year lease with a rent-free period which has not been disclosed. They will be paying around £33 per sq ft for the office space.

The firm has been searching for three years for a City of London office, they currently have 600 staff at two separate premises on Aylesbury Street and Ropemaker.

Chris Mullen, a senior partner at the firm said, “We have been planning to consolidate to a single London location for some years.”

The news signifies another major lease in the City area from a law firm.  Recently Stephenson Harwood agreed to 128,000 sq ft of space at 1 Finsbury Circus and Greenberg Traurig appointed Knight Frank for their search for new offices. The City area is becoming one of the most popular in the world, and the most popular in Europe. The capital is going from strength to strength and many exciting new developments are being planned as a result of the activity in the market.
