Construction begins on new London office space.
Office space is being developed in the UK capital.
Hines has announced that construction work on 280 Holborn has begun in the heart of London.
The development will be funded through Hines’ European Development Fund II. The building has been designed by GMW and will feature sustainable technology that is environmentally friendly. The company are looking to attain a BREEAM Excellent rating for sustainability.
The eight-story building will be developed to include 67,000 square feet of office space with an additional 3,000 square feet of retail space. Hines will also be adding individual floor plates that will vary between 7,000 and 9,400 square feet.
“We are very optimistic about the leasing prospects for 280 High Holborn as we expect it to be completed at a time when Midtown will have very low levels of Class A supply,” commented Alexander Knapp, Hines’ UK Project Director.
The company have signed a contract with Mace and plan to have the space completed by 2012. DTZ and Jones Lang LaSalle have been retained as the property’s leasing agents.
“The site is exceptional – it will provide high-quality office space which links High Holborn to the green spaces of Lincoln’s Inn Fields,” said Alexander Knapp.
This is the latest in a run of projects for Hines in the capital, showing their commitment to quality London office space. Recently the company finished the creation of new offices in Mayfair and they are also currently developing new office in Cannon Place.
