Raising Funds with Snacks
Known as the ‘honesty fridge’ this is the engine behind our charity donations. Filled with bags of sweets, chocolates, crisps, pop and other indulgences, the treats cost only 50p or £1.
The CEO of Londonoffices, Chris Meredith, had the idea for the charity initiative. The company wanted to make a donation to charity on an ongoing basis while avoiding being ambassador for just one.
London Offices Influences
Other providers who give generous donations to charities have also inspired Londonoffices. As mentioned within our article ‘London Serviced Offices Strive for Sustainability’, the Shard charitably donates one meal a month to FareShare community food network. The money the Shard saves via recycling within the building is what makes these efforts possible.
CEO of BE Offices David Saul is also the co-founder of the charity Rays of Sunshine who grant wishes for ill children. BE Offices provide a range of serviced offices for differing businesses; many of which sit within the Liverpool Street area. Especially relevant are the BE Offices staff who are regularly raising funds for the amazing Rays of Sunshine.
A charity receives a donation each month thanks to the sales generated by Londonoffices’ honesty fridge. The choice of recipient is usually chosen by suggestions from throughout the building. Guide Dogs for the Blind, St Giles Hospice and the Salvation Army have all received donations within the last few months, all thanks to our love of sugar!
This month London Offices’ chosen charity is Birmingham Children’s Hospital nominated by Zoe who works within the business centre. Her choice is as a result from the fantastic care the hospital provided to her young son Joshua.
She says, ‘The extra things they do for the kids including gifts and special people coming in to meet them, not to mention the sensory and play rooms, can make a dark time bright and they are more than essential.’
Consequently, we are thrilled to be able to provide this amazing charity with a donation.
